Facts, Trivia, Memories and More about Johnny Hopp

Acquired: On May 26, 1956 the Yankees purchased Johnny from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Memories: A visitor, "Farley" from Manhattan wrote: "My father pointed out to me that Hopp when scroring on a sacrifice fly from 3rd base, would start several strides BEHIND 3rd and start running before the ball was caught and would be at full speed as he hit 3rd and the ball was caught. I was a kid and thought he was very smart to do this. I'm older now and still think he was pretty bright and don't know why others don't do this."
