Facts, Trivia, Memories and More about Mickey McDermott

Memories: Submitted by Nick P. from Mineola, NY: "I recall going to a game at Yankee Stadium in the '50's and sitting in the lower right field seats adjacent to the Yankee bullpen. The seats were $1.30 at the time. My friend Joey and I sneaked down closer to the field railing to watch the game. Mickey Mcdermott, who was a pitcher and not a bad hitter came up to bat. As we got down to the box-seat area in right field, we heard a loud crash. McDermott had hit a line drive which hit the auxiliary scoreboard with such great force. It bounced back from the outfield and by the time it was retrieved, old Maurice had an inside-the park home run. I'll never forget that."
