Facts, Trivia, Memories and More about Don Slaught

Memories

Mr. Sparkle of YankeeNumbers.com: "I remember being at a Saturday afternoon game on September 10, 1988 at Yankee Stadium when the Yankees took on the Tigers. The Yankees were still only 4.5 back, so they were still in striking distance of the Red Sox. Anyway, it was Jack Morris vs. Rick Rhoden, the Yankee ace at the time, and "Sluggo" Slaught had a huge game, going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. The Yankees won that day, 9-4, with 6 runs in the 7th and a complete game performance from Rhoden. I don't know why, but that game and the performance by Slaught always stuck with me."
