Facts, Trivia, Memories and More about Josh Towers

Notes

  • In 2009, Josh was called up from the minors for one day and returned the minors the next. He did not pitch in the game. It was just one of those weird roster moves that have to be made every now and then when an injury pops up and roster spots have to be shuffled.  I don't remember the details of why it happened, but it did.  The roster promotion/demotion happened so quickly it was never even reflected on the official Yankees website.  Since he didn't pitch in the game, there was no way to find out what number he wore...almost.  On a whim, I decided to email Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Yankees beat reporter at the time, explained who I was and what the website was about and asked if he could help.  He quickly replied, letting me know that Josh wore #28 that day.  It's likely you won't find that number reflected anywhere else, but this is solidly sourced in addition to the fact that I remember #28 being available at that particular time.
