Facts, Trivia, Memories and More about Jorge Posada

Notes

Notes: Paul from Wading River reminds us that in 1997, Jorge switched to #22 from #20 after the re-acquisition of Mike Stanley from the Red Sox. Stanley briefly wore #18, before the change.

Trivia

  • Jeff Y. submitted this tidbit on Facebook: "Ran into Jorge Posada at mutual friends' wedding this weekend. He told me he wore #15 for a brief time in 1996 while with the Clippers, prior to being called up to the Yankees. He always wanted to wear that number, as it was his father's favorite number. He would have kept it when called up, but it was a retired number, having been Thurman Munson's."
