Facts, Trivia, Memories and More about Juan Miranda

Notes: Erik from Colonia, NJ notes that Juan Miranda was issued #29 for one game, April 17, 2009. He never appeared in the game.

Notes: An injury to Xavier Nady in early 2009 prompted quite a few roster moves over the next few games. On April 16th, 2009 the Yankees recalled David Robertson (#30) from AAA Scranton to fill Nady's roster spot as Xavier moved to the DL. Robertson pitched two innings that night so being unavailable the next game, the Yankees sent him down on April 17th and called up 1B Juan Miranda (#29) from AAA Scranton. Needing another arm in the bullpen, the following day, April 18th, Miranda was sent down (not having played) and Anthony Claggett (#39) was recalled from AAA Scranton. Claggett was bombed in emergency mop-up duty that day but took his lumps to the tune of 60 pitches, rendering himself useless for a few days. So, on April 19th, the Yankees sent him back to AAA Scranton and recalled RHP Steven Jackson (#17) from AAA Scranton.

Miranda was added to the roster during the month of September, where he was issued #72.
