Facts, Trivia, Memories and More about Cade Winquest

Transactions

Returned: April 13, 2026: Cade was selected in the Rule 5 draft from the Cardinals in Spring of 2026. With some roster wiggle-room, the Yankees kept him on the roster when they went North.  Thanks to the usual batch of off-days in the early season schedule, the Yankees were able to open the season with a four-man rotation and let Luis Gil "tune-up" in the minors until he would be needed to join the rotation.  Because of this, the Yankees were able to keep Cade on the roster for a couple of weeks.  Unfortunately, he never got into a game before Gil was recalled and Winquest was designated for assignment.  Due to the rules of the Rule 5 draft, Cade passed through waivers and was returned to the Cardinals.  Full story
